The16th annual Christmas Show will be held at the Lake Benton Opera House Saturday, Dec. 1. Shows are at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The show was originally presented as a fundraiser for the theater to help pay the bills through the winter months. It became a favorite for not only the ticket buyers but also the performers. The Opera House board provides food for the cast throughout the day. The performers are treated to a movie between shows and the day provides an opportunity to renew friendships forged during past summer musical productions.

“It is one of my favorite days each year. I love Christmas music and the show draws some amazing talent from around the area...people who love the music as much as me,” said Director Mark Wilmes.

This year’s show will have around 35 participants, who will sing a variety of solos, duets and group numbers.

“We have a wide range of ages participating, from pre-teens to senior citizens, which give us a wonderful range of song styles from people with a passion for the season. If you don’t come for any other reason, you should come to hear Emilirose Rasmusson and Paula Nemes perform, ‘W
